Recently, news came out confirming that an original Supreme x Louis Vuitton deck was sold for $10,000 via eBay. This deck was released as part of the "collaboration" in year 2000, although the LV designs were not permitted to be used by Louis Vuitton, forcing Supreme to take them off the shelves. This partly explains the dreading scarcity of items still left over from that collaboration, and the insanely high resale prices they currently possess.
Although to the unsuspecting and newer fans of Supreme this price may seem mind boggling, it's only natural for such highly coveted items to raise in price. However, even the most seasoned Supreme veterans understand how much of an opportunity they missed, considering the entire set retailed for only $180, with each deck costing only $60. Today however, the set is priced at $30,000. This would mean that anyone who bought the set for $180 back in 2000, would today make their money close to 170 times over - not bad for reselling skateboard decks !
But don't be upset, as not all is lost and there are still plenty of opportunities to come up with big cash in the future !
